this is a silly question but

does the debian x64 version work with amd semprons??

or do they only work only with athlon 64's?

and if they do work with semprons? is there a drastic improvement than from the x86 debian??

if it is semprom 64 then yes it will work!

I personally don't think there is any improvement in performance between the 64 and 32 bit versions of linux. I do believe there will be in the future when it becomes the standard. The other thing is you might have some relatively minor problems with stuff like flashplayer that does not have a 64 bit counterpart.

I have a athlon 64 3700+ and have used both 64 and 32 but for know I only use 32 it's just easier and the benefits aren't really there yet imho.
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL
