Help needed on apt perferences file

    Hi everyone

I need some help on how to write the preferences file for apt.

I am currently running 3.1 stable version of the system, and using synaptic as my package manager.

I am thinking of install the following packages from the unstable tree only.

    sun-jdk
nvidia kernel module for kernel 2.6.x
    gdesklets

    I know I can use
    apt-get -t unstable install packge-name
to achive this. Is this the ony way or I can let my package manager to do this.

I have some idea on how to wirte the rules for those package I want to install and pin them to unstable,
my question is should I also write the rule for the those packages which they depended on as well (i.e. lib6)?
Is my package manager is smart enought to figure that
    out by itself.

    Thanks for your help
    Stephen
