I need help really badly, i tried installing Debian in my laptop and it didnt work.. then , after i installed windows XP again i couldnt connect to the internet. Afterwards i discoeverd that it couldnt detet my wireless card, it couldnt detect the built in speakers either.. it was almost like if it tought it was a desktop not a laptop..
i need help plz! if some1 knows how to fix this tell me!

The problems you're having are with Windows XP, not Debian. There is no way that I know of that Debian could have somehow broken these devices.

I'll second techieMoe's advice and say that this is a Windows configuration error of some type and has nothing to do with Debian.

It sounds like you need to install the drivers. Whereas Linux includes many drivers in the kernel and most devices work right after the OS is installed, Windows needs drivers installed from the device manufacturers' discs before most things will work or even be recognized.
Stand up and be counted as a Linux user!

so how do i fix it?
any thoughts on how to fix it? i dont have the drive installation disks, all i got was the 'vaio recovery' disks which unfortunately dont do anything... (tried them twice already)

You should go to : -

and select your laptop model and download necessary drivers and software updates for it, instead of blaming Debian.
