Alright, after many long frustrating hours with this thing im about to quit. I installed debian using the regular kernel, got a lockup similar to this guys:http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/deb...l-freezes.html
then I ran the 2.6 kernel in expert mode(froze in reg mode) and got it installed fine. Tried to boot it up the first time and it locks up on "detecting hardware..." No error messages just a lock up. I am running a SCSI Samsung hard disk with win xp pro sp2 installed and dual AMD 64 4400+. Grub works fine, as does windows. I installed the 2.6-smp kernel, then the 2.4-smp kernel(once i figured out 2.6 didnt work.) So if anyones up for a challenge, Id appreciate it if they could help me out here.
Thanks in advance
