Hi!,
I am using a Debian Sarge 3.1system. Recently I had a problem with my logins.Apparently i can login at the login prompt as a normal user but I cannot use the "su" command to gain root privileges. I can login as root from another terminal. Also, I can't unlock "locked" Xsessions started by the user using my password. But this problem does not occur when I try to unlock a "locked" Xsession started by the root. Another problem is that I cannot save my KDE settings as a user like changing the no. of virtual desktops displayed tho only the screen settings(backgrnd, scrennsaver, etc) can be changed.Could someone please tell me of any setting to solve this issue as I have to do all my work as the root.
