Hey guys
I so want to dive into linux, infact i am already in, how ever i am confused about the favour.
I had red hat 4 but it slowed down my laptop , i wonder why
amd 1.86 ghz 64 turion
750 mb ddr
40 gb hdd
i went ahead for fedora core 5 but some how i always feel debian is a pure form of linux.
i wanna build up a career too...so which one do u guys vote for.
please help out and will appreciate if u cud tell me the reason behind u r answers.!

Use FC to grasp the feel of Linux and once you get more comfortable try Debian.

yeah i guess thats what i must do, how ever, i wanna learn to admin a server, linux server, i am and can work with apache php and mysql how ever, what about those servers which maintain user accounts and stuff, how shud i set that in my system and work with it..any ideas? for begginers?
- 07-18-2006 #5I'm a real Debian fanboy, but RedHat is what mostly gets used in business, so go for RedHat if you want to be well versed in the distro that you're most likely to use in the workplace.

why does the rh4 move like a snail on my laptop ...i just dont get it

wonder why it runs fast on my frnds laptop with pentium 1.8 ghz 512 mb ram 80 gb hdd..
any guesses?
