How graphical interface?

I just installed debian 3.1 on my pc.
How do I start the graphical interphase?

I try startx command, but the graphical interface
doesnt work ?

What error messages do you get? Did you install the graphical interface when you installed Debian?

I just followed the steps and installed debian.
Dunno how to start the graphical mode.

When you type startx, what errors (or messages of any kind) do you see?

Do you have the X package set up and xorg configured? Do you have installed a windowmanager or desktop environment? Give us more information on what you did and what errors you get exactly, otherwise no one can help you.
