    internet problems plz help

    hi everyone i just signed up because i recently got a ubuntu from http://mirror.cs.umn.edu/ubuntu-releases/6.06/ and used http://register.vmware.com/content/download.html to use it and when i started ubuntu using the vmware server thingy, it will not let me connect to the internet anyone who can help me would help alot, and i only used windows mostly so im kinda a newb.

    Have a look in your /etc/resolv.conf and see what is in there.

    Command (from root login):

    vim /etc/resolv.conf

    there should be something about nameserver in there. Let us know what it says!
