    Red face eathernet problems

hello, i just (like in the last hour) installed debain 2.4 on my eMachines T3304 and debian couldnot find the eathernet driver. I tryed all the drivers it listed and nothing worked.

the motherboard is a "FIC K8MC51G" with onboard eathernet, and the Nvidia chipset.

If you guys could help me find a driver, i would be greatful, or tell me how to configure the thing so it works

    Thank you:

    Jon

    Solution

ok, to get this fixed we ran
    Code:
    lspci > filename
(the file name is where you are saving the file)

We saved the file somewhere i that i could find it. Looked at the file, it told me nvidia was controling my ethernet, so, (on a diff computer) i went to nVidias website (http://www.nvidia.com) downloaded the correct driver (nforce 2) to a flash drive, and instaled the driver from the flash drive.

And now, i am posting from Debian linux.

i hope i remenbered everyting right

    Jon
