    startup without graphical interface

    i need help. i installed debian and when grub loads debian it starts only with terminal. i am pretty new to linux. i installed only first debian cd, because i' ve been told that next cds i can install from net. debian is connected to net and repositories were updated on first startup. i need some graphical interface because im confused about terminal.

    Log in as root and do this:
    Code:
    apt-get install x-window-system
    apt-get install gnome # If you want gnome
    apt-get install kde # If you want KDE
    Now type startx as your regular user and let us know what happens.

    so it didnt help. maybe i have problem with hardware, maybe i'm lol
    i installed kde enviroment, but i couldnt start it. now i installed ubuntu and it runs well
