Well, the same thing happened Ozar! I dont know much about it but if someone could direct me to a website of a morphix or a ubunta, and tell me EXACTLY what I need to dl and burn as iso...basically hold my hand through it because I think that is where my problem is...I have part of morphix but I dont know if i need more or need to put something on a floppy or what...so if someone could tell me what they did to get their os on disk step by step that would be a huge help!

If you're using Windows and trying to download an .iso file and burn it to a CD to make a bootable Linux install CD or a Linux LiveCD use ISO Recorder it's a free program that makes it really easy.

1 Download ISO Recorder for Windows click here
    2 Install ISO Recorder
3 Download a Linux distribution, make sure it is an .iso file
4 When it's all finished downloading put a blank CD in the CD tray right click the file you downloaded perhaps it's "ubuntu-6.06-desktop-i386.iso" and select Copy image to CD from the menu
5 The .iso image file will be burned to the CD and will bootable.
6 Continue on from there depending on whatever the distribution of Linux is you choose, welcome to the world of Linux.

I am trying to not get frustrated, but no matter what computer I try any of these disks on it all says the same thing:

    "Starting Caldera DR-DOS...

    ...

Using DPMS DOS Protected Mode Services.

AND NONE OF THE OPTIONS STATED ABOVE WORK OF COURSE BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A DISK IN A:\ IT COULD STILL BE IN THE WAY I BURN THE ISO BUT I DOUBT IT (FOR EXAMPLE WHAT ISO LEVEL DO I BURN AT?, WHAT BOOT IMAGE PROPERTIES DO I USE? (RIGHT NOW IT IS SET AT C:\My Downloads\cdxpburner\Tools\DosBootimage.IMA), WHAT EMULATION TYPE DO I USE?)

ALSO, I AM NOT INSTALLING USING DOS OR ANY OS, THERE IS NO OS ON THIS COMPUTER! THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.

Don't make the CD bootable. The ISO burning process takes care of that step automatically. If you make the CD bootable yourself, you'll get the Caldera DR-DOS screen.
