    Help... recovering data from...

    Hi Linux Gurus,

    i have a problem that i can't resolve...

    is there a way to recover data from a failed Raid 1 mirror disk inside a Logical Volume (LVM) with ext3 filesystem?

    OS: Debian Linux:
    Kernel: 2.6.8-2-686-smp

    i tried to load the "good" raid 1 mirror disk on a separate recovery box and
    i am trying to re-assemble the raid array with mdadm...

    fdisk -l shows

    Disk /dev/sda: 200.0 GB, 200049647616 bytes
    255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 24321 cylinders
    Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

    Disk /dev/sda doesn't contain a valid partition table

    This is the raid1 disk...

    Please... puhleeeasseee help me.. data on that drive is very important to my boss..

    Thanks in Advance

    Forever Newbie...

    I don't know how to recover your data.

    But I think it will be a difficoult task.... and I give you a little hint for the future: LVM snapshot.
    When using Windows, have you ever told "Ehi... do your business?"
