Problem installing Debian 3.1
Hi, I have a PCChips P3 motherboard with 1.4 ghz tualatin that I would like to install debian on. I just tried on my other P3 Compaq board and it dhcp auto configuration works fine during the setup process.
I am trying to do net install, so I need to get my ethernet adapter working so I can download the http files.
I have another post on this forum here where im asking for help on how to install the lan adapter.
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/deb...urce-file.html
The autoconfiguration fails everytime, and it says my dhcp server (router) is too slow or hardware not working, but I know the auto dhcp configuration works on my other p3 motherboard also with a 1.4ghz chip. I have tried numerous addin pci lan adapters and it still does not work.
does anyone have an idea whats wrong, or know something that can help me out?
thanks,
Zack
