are you in Grand Rapids, if so, I need your help

    Hey guys,
    Thanks for viewing my thread.

I am in need to hire someone to install either Debian or Ubuntu. It seems like such a simple task to find someone local, but its been 3 weeks and no luck.
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

For this specific install, it has to be on location.
    I'm located downtown.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Jamie

If you dont get any responses about physical presence, try doing it over the phone. You can do the typing while someone walks you through it...

Although, I do think that you should be paying for someone to install it for you:
-What happens if you need to do it again?
-Are they going to maintain this system also?

    thanks for the response

About 8 years ago, I did about 50 boxes with someone walking me through it. At that time, I could pretty much do it on my own. Yet I've forgotten it all by now.

I don't mind paying for someone doing it for me.
Even for walking me through it over the phone.

Yet my tech needs me to set up my router as well so that he can eventually take over. I'll let you know if I can't find anyone local to come in and help.

I actually meant i DONT think that...

If you just want a basic setup, I have a txt file that I keep to refresh my memory on what is needed for my installs. This will probably be different for everyone due to preferences, but your more than welcome to it. You should actually make a copy of your own, tailored to your needs. Its always helpful to keep docs like that, especially if you install say a webserver with php and mysql, getting all that to work can be a PAIN if you forget the slightest thing.
