Hi all,

I'm new to linux and chose Debian to "learn" about it. I have successfully installed Debian (current stable) on a second HD on my PC and all looks good except for the video drivers ... and I'm not 100% sure that that is the issue. All I'm really sure of is that the resolution is vga at this point and the installed ati drivers didn't work.

After installation - I go to set the screen resolution and my only option is 640x480 @60hz. This is most likely due to my choosing vga during the installation - the ati drivers didn't work with my particular ATI card - the Fire GL 4. So I ran the reconfig and choose vga just to get up and going.

Now I need to learn how to find and install the correct drivers...and will need some help.

I did see some Linux drivers on the ATI site:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=300

They appear to have some for the Fire GL4 but I'm clueless as to how to install them.

I sure would appreciate any help offered. Smile

Thanks
Dodge

PS - once this is resolved (fingers crossed) I have to learn how to set up for dual monitors! Yikes!
