    Up coming Etch release & gcc4

    Hullow,

    I have a memory of posting something similar to this some where, but can't remember or find where. All apologies if that is the case .

    I have heard rumers that Etch was having performance issues due to issues with gcc4.

    I'm wondering if anyone has any insight along theses lines ... it may well have been solved by now as there has been some incremental gcc4 releases over the year.

    I am not sure and can not find anything. Debian will not release it untill it is working and stable. It is due to release in December.

    Unless you are going to beta test and there is no need for it to be 100% stable, I would not advise using it.
