Why not just use the ethernet connection ?
Getting the USB to work may not be painless.
What is the exact model of this modem ?"To express yourself in freedom, you must die to everything of yesterday. From the 'old', you derive security; from the 'new', you gain the flow."

I used to have a USB modem and it took me a week to get it to work ,, My model was Aztech 206 which the USBEagle software worked with..
check http://faq.eagle-usb.org/wakka.php?w...gePrincipaleUS
I used the new ueagle-atm insted of the usbeagle and it worked like a charm ..
