Can't get ATI IXP AC97 sound card working
I've been trying to get the sound card working with my hp pavilion zv6100 laptop for a couple of days now, i've tryed using asla but I get this error when i get to the make step for the driver:
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/alsa-driver-1.0.9/acore'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-1.0.9/include/sound/driver.h', needed by `hwdep.o'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/alsa-driver-1.0.9/acore'
make: *** [compile] Error 1
I'm very new to Linux (just starting trying to use it about a week ago) so I don't really understand what this means, I read somewhere that I might need to upgrade my Kernel to a 2.6 (I currently have a 2.4.27-2-386, which came with the debian stable).
Any help would be appreciated
also lspci gives
