bittorrent headache for this noob
I've slowly been learning the ins and outs of linux but obviously not well enough. I decided to attempt to install bittorrent on my debian machine and while the package seemed to install without a hitch, I can't seem to figure out how to use it. Here's what I did:
I used Synaptic Package Manager to install Bittorrent and Bittorrent-gui. The versions that it installed are a bit out of date but nonetheless they should have worked right? The install goes off without a hitch... no error messages. Trouble is, after the install I can't seem to use them (ie I have no idea how to use them). It's not like I've never used bittorrent before... I've used it on an XP machine... its just that I don't know how to start the bt-gui on this machine. So... what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help.

You sould figure the name of the binary if no shortcuts were made.
*go to the packages you downloaded and installed in synaptic
*Right click and the properties
*Click on a tab with something like "files installed" or just go through all the tabs until you find a list
*Search for a line beginning with /usr/bin
*Now copy that line and paste it in a terminal (konsole, gnome-terminal ...)
*The programs should be launched
If you find multiple file beginning with /usr/bin, run them all until you get something!
