[SOLVED] can not connact to internet
Hi All!
I'm a totall newB to linux, but installed Debian Sarge with X and KDE.
All went well, and looks good.
But I cannot connect to the internet.
On startup it tries to connect but comes in a seemingly endles spiral of DCHPrequest/DCHPoffer
after about 30 minutes orso it gets connected.
Anyone has an idea what this is and how to get it right at the first try?
thanks alot

Is it a wireless connection or not.
otherwise for cable connection:
try to give in the command "ifconfig" as root and see what you get.
you should have eth0 there...
then type dhclient eth0
normally you should have a connection then...
if this doesn't work please post what you get after you typed ifconfig
