    Installing Ares on debian sarge

    Hi guys,

    How do I install Ares p2p client on my debian machine. Is it possible to connect to ares network from debian OS. I searched google and I did not found any deb package.

    It may be in apt repo, try "apt-get install ares"

    Its not in the apt repository.

    Here is my sources.list file....

    deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r0a _Sarge_ - Official i386 Binary-1 (20050607)$

    deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib

    deb http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian stable main

    deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian sarge main contrib non-free

    Your sources.list file looks rather incomplete. If you want to have a working desktop out of Debian Sarge, minimally you would need a /etc/apt/sources.list file that looks like the one quoted here :

    I do believe Ares exist only as a Windows compatible software :
    http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

    You might be able to run it under wine though.

    UPDATE : I just installed it under wine and it runs very nicely.
