    keyboard settings

    Hello
    I have a notebook with a german keyboard. But the keyboard is configured for english in my linux settings. So when i press 'Y', it is interpreted as 'Z'. Can somebody help in how to change the settings. Also can you tell me how to change the language in linux from shell.

    command is 'setxkbmap'. for german its 'de'...
    so try this command in shell..

    setxkbmap de
