    problem starting ymessenger

    Hi guys,
Few days back, I installed yahoo messenger on debian OS, it was running fine. But today when I run by typing ymessenger on the terminal, it gives me error: Segmentation fault.

Is it the right way of starting yahoo messenger because when I run ymessenger from terminal, it actually configures messenger first, then it shows yahoo login prompt. There must be some other way of running it.

    Thanks in advance

    bye

You could just use GAIM or Kopete.

    Re:

What is this GAIM or Kopete? I already installed yahoo messenger for debian from yahoo site. Now I want to know how to start the login prompt. Just like in windows, you get its .exe file, similarly on debian, there must be some file which starts yahoo messenger.

    Thanks

Gaim and Kopete are Linux IM clients the support MSN, Yahoo, AOL etc. In Debian you can install them by doing "apt-get install gaim" or "apt-get install kopete".
