    x won't start after apt-get -f install

Hi- New here. I was trying to install a package with some missing dependencies and I tried
    # apt-get -f install
as suggested by apt. Some error message about gdm that I didn't read flew by, the fonts on everything that I was using in fluxbox got all weird and I got error messages about font packages, and the next time I booted the machine, X would not start. The specific error message was something like:
    /usr/bin/X11R6 is missing.
Also, I usually run xdm, but gdm was trying to start X, and xdm was hiding from sight.

I'm really not sure what I did. Any suggestions? The machine works in text mode, but lynx gets old fast. I'd be very glad of any help.

Check out the file /var/log/dpkg.log and reinstall the packages that were wrongly removed by "apt-get -f install".
