    Help me Plis

    Hi i need some help here, im a new user on debian and im trying to install it on my laptop the problem is with my video card becouse my laptop is Generic so i cant get the X configure so when it try to get in to the desktop it get me back to Shell becouse my X its not right so plis help me, i have the driver on a Cd can i do something with that on Debian?

    ah right im sorry.
    ok when Gnu tryes to start it apears.

    when i put Yes then it show.

    if you don't know the video card type run
    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
    then select the vesa driver. It should work with most stuff.

    smart solution.

    Well, if you don't wanna stay 3 hours trying to figure it out, you can download the ubuntu Live CD images, it'll recognize your X confs, then you can copy xorg.conf to a ftp, pendrive, gdrive, etc. and download it in debian. easy, fast and cool.
