Intel graphics 1024-768 on laptop + lang

Hi all, first time poster and total newbie.

After installing Debian 3.1 Sarge on my laptop, I've had some trouble getting the screen to show the desired resolution. I've downloaded the files available from Intel, but I fall somewhat short when it comes to actually running them. If someone would be so kind as to give me fairly detailed instructions on how to go about making my 82852/82855 available in 1024-768, I'd be most grateful.

Also, there seems to have been some mixup in the language-section when I installed. Anyone know how I can change the default keyboard-layout to Norwegian?

You certainly don't have to do that. Debian should have all the necessary tools for you. The command :
    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
should allow you to correctly configure the X server.

The command I gave you above should allow you to choose the default keyboard layout for X to.

To change it system wide :
    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure console-data
and choose the appropriate keyboard layout.
