    Internal modem not detected

    Hello all,

    I am using Debian sarge GNU/Linux along with win XP.... My debian does not detect my internal modem but XP does it ... I have tried installing the coresponding device drivers for that.... what may the possible cause... please help

    Most internal modems are winmodems, meaning the drivers are only for windows and linux can't use winmodems, there are very very very few, some lucent modems will work, can't remember the site, i think the site has the name of linmodem, but i recommend if you want to use dialup in linux get a external serial modem(these should work)
