Hi everyone -

Am getting my new file server set up for our school. The server will be used for our PC Lab, our Macintosh lab, and general storage for our teachers, who are on Mac.

To handle the PC lab, I have Samba installed, and a directory shared for PC users. This seems to be working OK.

I'm running into problems on the Mac side. What I want to do is to create two folders. One is named "Mac Lab", which will have 8 folders inside, labeled grade1-grade8. Then, I want to create a second folder called "Mac Staff" and have several sub-folders with the teacher's directory in it. Of course, each teacher's folder should only be able to be opened by that teacher, and nobody else. The teachers all have their own laptops, and some are running OSX, while others are running OS9.

I've been reading tutorials on configuring netatalk, and really haven't had much luck creating the shares to work properly. I don't know if I have to create separate unix accounts for each teacher, or perhaps that's not necessary. I'm not even sure if the program itself is configured properly. I can confirm that it is installed, and the daemon is starting when the system comes up.

I've been looking for a Webmin module for netatalk, too, but can't seem to find that either. I went to webmin.com, and the links they have on their website to download the netatalk module are not functioning.

Would anyone be able to point me to a sample netatalk config. file that would accomplish what I'm trying to do, and which would be compatible with both OS9 and OSX? Even the Webmin module would help a great deal. I'm too engrained into the Windows GUI world, and that prompt scares me!

Thanks for the help!
