    Debian for AMD64?

I'm trying to download debian-31r3-amd64-binary-2.iso and debian-31r3-amd64-binary-2.iso (I'm assuming I have to make two dvds out of both of them and put binary1 dvd in my machine and boot from it to begin installing Debian).

I have been trying to download for about a week now, and have successfully downloaded NOTHING.

Please, can SOMEONE seed this? How does anyone with AMD64 machines run Debian?

As a similar alternative to Debian I tried Gentoo, and it doesn't even have an AMD64 edition (that I can find).

Dreamlinux and PCBSD don't have AMD64 editions either! Why are so many developers of OSs I like not developing for the fastest growing processor architecture EVER?

EDIT: Gentoo does have an AMD edition but it is only a 125mb ISO. Sounds like either net install (I use wifi, so no go) or VERY, VERY basic to me.

You can do a network-less install of amd64 gentoo. The handbook for it is here:
    http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...book-amd64.xml

    Here's a list of torrents:
    http://torrents.gentoo.org/

As for debian amd64, you don't need both discs one and two, and your download speeds might have to do with your isp. Some isp's now sometimes throttle large data transfers. This happens at my house, for instance. Also, what you can do instead of going through an official mirror is open a torrent client and just try searching for "debian"; then see if you can find "debian-31r3-amd64-binary-1.iso.torrent." So, try other torrents, perhaps.

how are you trying to download the image? If the torrent isn't working then try downloading directly from the debian servers
