    Problems in Installing Debian 3.1 on Gigabyte GA-965p-s3

    Hi Guys,

    I just assembled my PC and I wanted to install Debian on that but when I boot with my Debian CD when it goes to installer environment it say can't mount cdrom . How's this possible? I mean it's booting from CD but it can't mount it.

    And by the way my hard drives are 2 320 GB SATA II drives and the motherboard Chipset is Intel 965 with ICH8. And in BIOS the drives are set to AHCI (I changed it to IDE or IDE/RAID but still the same result).

    And let me tell you that I didn't have this problem with UBUNTU 6.10 or Fedora core 6. But I had it Suse 10.1 also.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    I had the same problem, with a similar motherboard (intel 965 chipset). Using this updated installer worked perfectly :
