    Ubuntu % Bud Lite

Ok this newbie is yacking a much needed break from the frustations of converting from windows to linux.. But I do have one question.. I have a laptop with intrnet access via a Wifi hotspot The box that I am learning Linux on I have cat5 crosswired to the laptop.. I can download into a shared folder on the unbutu box ... When I go into net on the unbutu and click on the icon for the XP host I get errors which are passwd errors which I will figure out unless you have an immediate solution...

Here is my question.. Even with windows an internet connection sharing is hard to set up. I have a laptop XP with wifi connection and a box with ubuntu wired to the laptop I do have routers and hubs availible What is the next step to ICS the ubuntu to the laptop? Are the masquerading shell commands neccesary?

i believe that you are wanting to setup the windows laptop as an internet gateway. your question would likely get better responses on a windows forum somewhere.
