    Regarding Repositries

    hi
    I am new to LInux environment so whether it is a serious issue or not and if it is plz respond in detail
    i have added a new source to the repositries and since then when ever i start the synaptic package manager i get the follow in msg

    W: Couldn't stat source package list http://ftp.iitm.ac.in unstable/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.iitm.ac.in_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
    W: Couldn't stat source package list http://ftp.iitm.ac.in unstable/contrb Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.iitm.ac.in_debian_dists_unstable_contrb_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
    W: Couldn't stat source package list http://ftp.iitm.ac.in unstable/non-free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.iitm.ac.in_debian_dists_unstable_non-free_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)

    my frnd too added the same source to the repositries but he doesnt get the msg
    plzz help

    post the content of your /etc/apt/sources.list file

    I think tha unstable is a bad choice for a newbe
