    eth0 not found

I'm trying to do a netinstall of 3.1 on an HP xw9300 Workstation. It has an NVIDIA nForce gigabyte onboard ethernet controller. Debian is not detecting it but does give the option for it. When I select that option it states that there was n' error and some ethernet ports need manual setup of I/O modules. Does anyone happen to know these modules by any chance?

i have a bad news for you , the linux not support the nvidia based gigabit cards. A reverse enginiered driver exists for normal ethernet cards and work well , but gigabit cards not supported.

get a 10/100 card (example: realtek8139)or try get some kind of driver for your onboard card.

with a newer release (e.g., 3.4) you could try ndiswrapper, which uses the MS Windows drivers for the device. This is a list for the cards that ndiswrapper currently supports:

    http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List

The reason I mentioned a newer release is that I'm uncertain if it'll work with 3.1
