Flash 9, No Audio ... Flash 7, Yes Audio

I just tried to install the latest Flash Player v9 from the Adobe site. I ran the installer and it places all the files it needs in my ~/.mozilla/plugins directory. It also prompted me to "Please ask your administrator to remove the xpti.dat from the components directory" which I did.

However, whenever I go to a site, say Google Video or YouTube, the video plays but there is no audio. These sites worked fine when I was using Flash v7.

I copied the Flash7 files back in to my plugins directory and audio is working again.

I had heard this was a problem in the beta version and that they had it fixed in the v9 release, but that's not the case on my system.

    I am using Debian Sarge on x86 + Gnome + SawfishWM + Firefox 2.0.0.1.

Does anyone have any ideas what to try to get this working?

    Thanks!

    Try launching ff as follows:
    Code:
    aoss firefox

Hmmm, I don't seem to have 'aoss' installed:

    ken@debian:~$ aoss /usr/local/firefox/firefox
    bash: aoss: command not found
    ken@debian:~$

Which package is that part of?

I should probably note that I have audio in other applications like 'totem' and 'mplayer' and it works fine.

Found aoss and tried the command above, but still do not have any audio.

    Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, but still no audio. Even tried to launch mozilla to see if audio was there, but nothing there either.

I'm just baffled as to why audio would work in the v7 player but not in the v9 player.
