    Smile Debian's way

    Hi,
I'm actually using Mepis, but there is nobody there to answer my question. Because it is also a .deb based distro, I think somebody has experience with my questions.
    I have 2 questions :
    1. I have Mepis 6.0-1 live DVD, and I've installed it. How to make use of "extra" folders on the DVD containing .deb packages? don't want to download something I already have on DVD.

    2. How can I save packages downloaded with Synaptic in /var/cache/apt for future installations (on other PC's) ?

Please give me a detailed descripion.
If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

For that you can use apt-cdrom :
    Code:
    sudo apt-cdrom add

Many programs will help you do that : apt-cacher, apt-zeroconf, etc.
