    Etch netinstall for x64_x86

    Hey,
    I've been looking to install etch on a Intel dual core xeon server, but cant figure which version is x64_x86.

    http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/

    Shall I get i386 or anything else to do that job? (netinstall)

    You can get either i386 or amd64 in that case.

    If you want the maximum compatibility possible, I would suggest the i386 version, as some applications might not work as well with the amd64 version.

    Alright, I'll try out the i386

    is it also comes with 2.6.18 kernel?

    The Etch RC 1 CD comes with a 2.6.17 CD, but after installation and update you'll get a 2.6.18 kernel.

    Etch final will indeed ship with a 2.6.18 kernel (as it does now).
