Can't install debian - glitchy installer
Hello to all
I decided that opensuse didn't have enough applications for me and that I would try Debian. All went well with the install and when I rebooted, it asked me which extra packages I wanted to install. I thought I had chosen desktop environment, but i really chose mailing system. Not thinking, I tried to reinstall debian to fox this problem. The installer said "debootstrap error: could not retrieve console - common". It worked the first time. Why not this time? I tried again and again with the same results. I tried burning the disk again, but it didn't work. Any ideas? I am a newbie and ideas are appreciated.
Thanks!

You didn't reformat did you? If not, this is fixable. Just because you didn't install a DE/WM doesn't mean you can't install one. Simply use apt to install one.
Post back if you have any problems or questions (I don't know how much you know about Debian).Looking for a distro? Look here.

i did format my drive. The problem is that the installer disc worked once, and it didn't work the second time.
