    Wireless Adapter for Debian

I'm looking to purchase a wireless adapter which will work for debian. What do you recommend? I've tried a couple of other adapters, but couldn't find the right drivers for them.

i suggest you buy a wireless card with Atheros chipset, and you can use the madwifi driver for that card

have you tried ndiswrapper to configure your previous wireless adapters (using Windows drivers)?

    Cheers,

no, i haven't, but I'm going to have to buy a new adapter anyways, most likely, so i might as well get one that is easy to configure for linux, if there are any.

I suggest you consider one of the many adapters listed in the wiki for ndiswrapper. You can look for a particular one for your distro of Linux.

    Regards,

using ndiswrapper, they all work I've had success w/ PCMCIA cards frm hawking, avaya & microsoft, and USB
hawking. No failures. Ndiswrapper fools linux into accepting the windows drivers.

"madwifi" is also good as I.W.B.G says

also, in the kernel, under "networking support/wireless LAN" find 10 or 12 types natively supported, including:

    Aironet Arlan 655 & IC2200 DS support
    Netwave AirSurfer Pcmcia wireless support
Cisco/Aironet 34X/35X/4500/4800 ISA and PCI cards
    Wireless 802.11b Pcmcia/Cardbus cards support
    Cisco/Aironet 34X/35X/4500/4800 PCMCIA cards
    Planet WL3501 PCMCIA cards

personally, if I had some wireless cards kicking around--as you say you do--I'd find the windows drivers
and use ndiswrapper. The sticky in our "wireless internet" forum is good. Spending money is bad.
