    testing (etch) is buggy and not recommended for newbies
    to remove "whatever"--"fdisk /dev/hda" "p" to see your
    partitions: read and follow the instructions to delete
    "w" to commit: what's yr problem w/ 3.1?

    just install etch or use apt to upgrade your sarge to etch
