    Getting Grub to boot

    I recently "upgraded" from LILO to Grub, and can't get the system to boot. The message I get is:

    "kernel panic - not syncing :VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown- block (0,0)

    Any ideas on what approach I should take to fix the problem?

    did you create menu.lst file? do you get GRUB Menu at startup?
