    Is it supported by sane? Some umax are....

    from the site u mentioned i fount tht my scanner is not supported but is there a chance tht in the near future my scanner may also get supported by SANE program
    or
    is there a method in which i can make my scanner get detected or get it configured i am a new to linux environment so if ur suggesting a procedure please explain it to me in detail

    It is unlikely that you can get it to work then (unless you bug the manufacturer to do something). You might google the model number with Linux to see if anything turns up.
