Which version of Debian is it, and which Mozilla? Firefox or the older Mozilla browser?

    For GNOME :
    Code:
    apt-get install x-window-system-core gdm gnome-core alsa-base
Mozilla should appear in the "Internet" section of the Gnome menu.

Do what antidrugue told you to. Then tell us if your 'x server' started. (that is - your mouse cursor will show up and it will automatically take you to the login screen.)

If it doesn't start, it should definitely attempt to start. Point being that if you install those packages it will at least *try* to do something. Tell us what it says if it doesn't work.

Also - when you say 'very newest version' that is somewhat ambiguous. In the debian world, one must say if the version is 'stable' or 'testing' or 'unstable'. You probably have the 'very newest stable version' - which is itself if i dont say so myself *incredibly* outdated (but very stable). Just a little piece of trivia that might come in handy when youre asking for help in the future. Good luck!
