Net install expert mode?
Hi.
I have a system with no cd/dvd drive, thus I need to do a net install. I have copied the latest "net-boot" initrd.gz and the "hd-boot" vmlinuz to a partition and configured grub to boot them. That works fine.
However, I get no control over which kernel is installed, and once the initial setup is completed, my first boot gets as far as "extracting kernel" then fails. I believe I need to boot the installer in epert mode in order to choose my own kernel, is this possible?
Alternatively, I could copy some of the ISO files over and use the "hd-boot" initrd.gz, but I'd still need the expert mode - how do I configure grub to tell the initrd to use the expert mode, and which ISO's support expert mode? Does the mini-cd have an expert mode? What about net-install?
Thanks!
