I booted into the debian etch amd 64 bit installer disc.
During installation in gui and in that ancient looking installer after selecting the keyboard mapping the installer detected all hardwares and then here comes the problem.After detecting all hardwares it said its trying to mount the cd-rom.But it froze there.Also my keyboard din't work.I chose american english for keyboard layout.But my mouse alone worked in gui installer.

I tried several boot options like acpi=off nolapic changing to ide generic driver.But none worked.Kindly help me...

Amd 3200+ 64 processor.
Asus a8v-mx mobo
512 mb 400 mhz hynix ram
80 gb sata seagate
sony cdrom and sony cdrw
logitech keyboard and optical mouse
