    desktop environment

    So I know how to install KDE and/or GNOME through the internet, but is there any way I could download a cd image or something on a different PC, and install the desktop environment onto debian through a CD? I have an ubuntu alternate cd, and I was wondering if I could get GNOME off of that cd onto my debian install.

    it isn't recomended , mixing two diferent distro not so lucky

    but if you want

    add your ubuntu cd to the source.list with apt-cdrom command
