I am trying to get the rexec command to work. I have installed the rsh package that contains the rsh, rlogin and rexec utilities. The proper entries appear to be in the inetd.conf file. How can I configure the system so as to be able to use the rexec command in the following syntax: "rexec hostname -l username -p password command". All I get is "command not recognized". (By the way, the rsh and ssh commands are recognized.) I noticed a perl configuration file named "rexec" in the pam.d folder (not a perl script just a configuration), but I cannot find an rexec utility in any bin folder. Does anyone know anything about this? I need to use rexec here, it cannot be ssh.

I am running a debian version 2.4.27.
