    Debian Etch (xine / totem error)

    I've performed a debian etch installation as described here ( http://lunapark6.com/debian-40-etch.html )....the installation worked ok but i have i problem with xine / totem.
    When i try to launch xine or totem from the desktop applet the programs do not start and when i start them from terminal i get this error :

    This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.5cvs.

    can't create mcop directory


    The thing is that the mcop directory exists :


    alessandro@debian-stazione:~$ whereis mcop

    mcop: /usr/lib/mcop


    Help me.

    Type (as normal user):

    mkdir -p ~/.kde/socket-debian-stazione

    KDE's sound mixer (aRts) is probably causing this (even if you don't use KDE).
