The reason I'm here is actually very sad because I cannot find a solution to the sound problem I'm having. There's the challange:
I have alsa installed. The output of my soundcard is working just fine. The problem is in the input. This means that I can turn on xmms, browse youtube etc and have sound playing from my speakers but I cannot speak up on skype. I've messed up with alsamixer settings, including capture and tried everything I could think of and got allot of help in freenode and I like to thank the folks there also. I tried to record something with arecord and aplay. Nothing worked.
My system is:
Linux July 2.6.18-4-686 #1 SMP Wed May 9 23:03:12 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
newly installed 31r5 stable debian. also it is updated and upgraded in the last 4 days. Everything works fine and I'm glad to use debian but I wish to have full advantage of my hardware.
