    Greetings,

I am installing Debian Sarge 3.1 r4 onto an IBM machine with two SATA disks.

If I have one disk installed, Installed, I can install with

    linux26 aic7xxx=no_reset

But if I have two disks installed, the installer will not recognise the disks.

I have installed with one disk - but if I attach the other disk, the machine will not boot.

Are the later versions of Sarge or Etch better at supporting the SATA disks?

    Don

Internet is very expensive here - so downloading a complete install is not really an option.

well, the good thing about debian, is they dont charge you for the OS, but only for packaging a mailing... cd's and dvd's

    Debian Etch 4.0r0 (AMD64) (3 DVD-R)
for example, a pressed 3 dvd costs around $25 where i live... that might be a better option for you thats if you have the $$$ (for i dont)...

as for the disk thingy... well... i am just guessing here... but make sure that on the hard drive, you switch the little things around so that one is master and the other one is the slave...
    GAH!!!
