    Debian Install on RAID

I am putting together a server to run Debian. I am buying a RAID card for it but I have some concerns.

What happens if during the Debian install, the RAID controller is not detected? How can I go about performing the install?

If anybody has any information on this topic, I would appreciate it.

I would say check the hardware before you buy it to make sure it will work

do a Google search for Debian <name of raid card> and see what people say.

I have also heard that Linux raid has pretty good performance.

I just installed Debian 4.0 on an IBM 3250 with this Raid card CDW Product Overview: IBM storage controller (RAID) - SATA-300

and it installed without a hitch and without me doing anything special
